Blue Mountains Meat Delivery

Fat Boy’s Quality Cuts delivers up the Blue Mountains on Wednesday. Our shop sits at the foot of the mountains in Emu Plains, so the lower mountains can also drive down and collect.

The mountains delivery run

The Blue Mountains have their own delivery days, not the Sydney ones, so plan your order around the run. The cut-off, with a worked example for the mountains, is in the list below.

Once your address is in, the checkout confirms your next delivery day. After the order is placed, we contact you with a delivery time for that day.

The list also names every Blue Mountains suburb on the run, straight from the same list the checkout uses. If your suburb is missing, choose collection or ring the shop.

At the checkout, type the suburb on its own, for example Springwood, and check the postcode. If no delivery option appears after that, we do not deliver to that address yet.

One order to fill the freezer

Fixed delivery days suit a bigger order that lasts until the next run. The Bulk Packs section has the made-up packs: the Freezer Filler, the Carnivore Meat Pack and the Essentials Pack.

The Mix & Match Pack is the pack you build. Choose any ten items from its list, one of each. Before a big order, our questions page covers how long meat keeps and what temperature it needs.

Slow cuts for a long cook

A big order for the run can mix single cuts in with the packs. Two of them cook for hours and feed a table. The Angus Beef Brisket 1kg spends six to eight hours on low and finishes about a third lighter, so a kilo serves three to four.

The Lamb Shoulders Bone In 1kg goes into a covered low oven for about four hours, or the slow cooker for the day. One kilo serves three, and two shoulders feed six.

To start the meal, the Roasting Marrow Bone Split Each comes split lengthways with the ends off. Roast it hot, then spread the soft marrow on toast.

Paddock to Plate farm boxes

The Paddock to Plate range is made up of farm boxes. Five from the range are the Paddock to Plate Beef Share, the Paddock to Plate Half and Whole Lamb, the 10kg Mixed Free-Range Pork Box, the 20kg Brisket and Mince Box, and the 10kg Mystery Box, Beef, Lamb and Pork.

The Beef Share starts at a one-eighth share, and the larger shares are on its page to choose from. The lamb comes as a half or a whole. There is also the Angus Pack 45kg: 1/8 Angus Cow, 1/2 Lamb and 10kg Free-Range Pork.

Collecting from the lower mountains

The shop is in Lennox Village, Emu Plains, at the bottom of the mountains and just off the Great Western Highway. That is the same highway that climbs through Glenbrook to Springwood and on up the range. From the shop, Lapstone is about 6 minutes by car, Glenbrook about 8 minutes and Blaxland about 11 minutes.

To collect, choose Collection at the checkout and pick a collection window. Come to the counter during that window. Or choose direct to boot, wait in the car, and tap the I’m here link in your order email so we can bring the order out.

Collecting adds no service fee, and collection has no minimum. If the trip down takes longer than planned, ring the shop on 0494 103 084. The Click and Collect door is on the Water Street side of Lennox Village Shopping Centre, near ALDI; look for the Fat Boys sign.

Picnic spots with an electric barbecue

Blue Mountains City Council lists public electric barbecues at two parks in suburbs on our mountains list. Glenbrook Park, reached from Ross Street behind the Glenbrook Visitor Centre, has two of them, with a shelter, picnic benches and accessible toilets.

Wentworth Falls Lake Park, on Sinclair Crescent, has two free electric barbecues with shelters, park benches, toilets and playground equipment.

One order for the summer get-togethers

Over Christmas and New Year, one larger order on a single run can cover a family lunch. A brisket and a lamb shoulder together feed a crowd, and you cook both long and slow on the day.

The mountains run is on Wednesday, and its cut-off falls well before it. For a Wednesday delivery, order by 12 noon on Monday. Christmas Day and Boxing Day are public holidays, so put the order in early, and ring the shop if you are unsure which run to aim for.

Blue Mountains questions

When is Blue Mountains delivery?

Wednesday, with a $25.00 delivery fee and a $2.00 service fee. The checkout shows the next delivery day for your address.

When is the last order for the mountains run?

For a Wednesday delivery, order by 12 noon on Monday. That is 36 hours before the delivery day starts.

How do I know if my suburb is covered?

Check the Blue Mountains list above, or the delivery page for every area. If the checkout offers no delivery for your address, we do not deliver there.

Can I collect instead?

Yes. Choose Collection at the checkout and a collection window. Collection has no minimum and no fee.

Is there a minimum order?

For delivery, $150.00 in the basket, before fees. Collection has no minimum.

Do you deliver anywhere else?

Yes: across Sydney, the Central Coast, Newcastle and Wollongong as well. Each area has its own days and fee, all listed on the delivery page.
