By the river on a weekend
Victoria Bridge is the road bridge that carries the Great Western Highway over the Nepean. Both banks have council parks with public barbecues, so you can collect an order and take it straight to lunch by the river.

- Regatta Park, 7 River Road, Emu Plains. Two barbecues, shaded picnic and barbecue areas, and an adventure playspace.
- Lions Park, on the corner of Park Street and the Great Western Highway, Emu Plains. Two large undercover areas, a barbecue, toilets and a playground.
Penrith City Council runs the Tench Reserve and Regatta Park barbecues first come, first served. They cannot be booked, so get there early on a busy day, and clean the plate when you finish.

Slow cuts and a roasting bone
Some cuts on the counter need hours of low cooking. They suit a Sunday at home, or a table bigger than the weeknight one.
The Angus Beef Brisket 1kg goes on low for six to eight hours. It loses about a third of its weight on the way, so allow a kilo for three to four people. The Lamb Shoulders Bone In 1kg takes about four hours in a covered low oven, or a day in the slow cooker, until it pulls apart under a fork.
The Pork Belly 1kg takes two and a half to three hours in a low oven, until it is cooked through and soft. The Roasting Marrow Bone Split Each is cut along its length with both ends off: roast it hot until the marrow softens, then spread it on toast.

Order ahead of the day. Delivery here runs every day except public holidays, and Christmas Day and Boxing Day are public holidays, so neither has a delivery. For a Thursday delivery, order by 12 noon on Tuesday. For Christmas week, ring the shop before you plan around a particular day.
